Took off work a little early and decided to park in Azusa and climb up 39....Had never been on the rode to Crystal Lake, and decided to try and see what I could. Supposed to be a recovery ride since I climbed Baldy the day before but my curiosity got the best of me....
The ride was nice, the gate was closed, and I don't remember the last time I actually rode on a closed road. It was nice to ride in the middle of the road and not worry about anything. Up past the gate I saw a Cat 1 friend of mine, who swiftly dopped the overweight sprinter while in Zone 1....Pathetic.
Anyway, will definitely be going back here more often...
